Classes for the 2025-2026 season start in September 2025 and January 2026.

SQUARE DANCE CLASSES

Link: What is Square Dance?

Classes begin in September (or sometimes January) and run until April or May depending upon the class. At the Mainstream square dance lessons 68 square dance basics are taught. Once you graduate from the class you are able to dance at any of the Mainstream clubs in Victoria and around the world!

Beyond Mainstream there are also Plus, Advanced, and Challenge programs that a dancer may progress to starting after at least one dance season as a graduate Mainstream dancer.

Free Intro Classes: Sept. 14 & 21, 2025

Regular Classes Start: Sept. 28, 2025

Then Oct. 5 to Dec. 14, 2025

Basic lessons end Jan. 4, 2026.

Mainstream lessons begin Jan. 11, 2026.

Refreshers welcome – singles or couples.

Winter 2026 Session

Free Intro Class: Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026

Time: 1:30-3:30 pm (Doors open 1:15 pm)

No experience necessary.

ROUND DANCE CLASSES

Link: What is Round Dance?

Classes begin in September (or sometimes January) and run until December or April/May depending upon the class. Generally dancers will learn the Phase I & II two step and waltz rhythms first. These rhythms are also danced between tips at Mainstream square dances.

Other rhythms, including cha cha, foxtrot, rumba, jive, tango, and quickstep, and higher phases (up to VI) may be learned depending on a dancer’s interest and on what is taught and danced in their Region.
